Regulations

A valid BC freshwater fishing licence is required; the Chilcotin is in fishing Region 5 (Cariboo), and Chilko Lake, further west, is bait-ban, single-barbless-hook water with a limit of two trout or char a day. Recreation site and Crown land camping is limited to 14 days at one site. Services are far apart on Highway 20, so carry fuel, water and a spare tire, and expect gravel on the side roads.
