Fishing spots in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario

This directory lists Ontario lakes and rivers by region, here Kawartha Lakes, drawn from the province's hydrography data. Most of these waters sit on or beside Crown land, which means you can usually reach the shoreline without asking anyone, but it does not tell you what is biting: species information only appears where an angler has reported a catch, so treat an empty species list as "nobody has told us yet", not "nothing lives here".

Before you fish anywhere in Ontario you need an Outdoors Card and a licence, and the season, size and possession limits depend on which of the 20 Fisheries Management Zones the water falls in, not on the region names used here. Our Ontario fishing licence and zones guide explains how the zones map onto these regions and where the sanctuaries and bait rules come from. To see which land designation surrounds a lake, open it on the interactive map, and if you plan to camp on the shore, read the Crown land camping rules first.

Caught something here? Log in and report the species on the lake's page so the next person has better information than you did.
