The Lunenburg-Mahone Bay-Chester loop is the quintessence of Nova Scotia's south shore: two villages rated "Canada's prettiest," island-studded bays and colonial architecture.

Chester, nicknamed "the Hamptons of the Maritimes," has drawn New York vacationers for 100 years. Summer sailing regattas. Tancook Island (ferry from Chester) offers an island getaway. In Lunenburg, the Smith and Rhuland shipyard (built the Bluenose). Schooner sails in the bay.
