Ice fishing on Stony Lake
Stony Lake is in fishing Region 7A (Omineca). BC has no separate ice fishing season, so the regular rules apply through the ice: the 2025-2027 synopsis lists rules of its own for this water, shown below, on top of the regional quotas.
- No set lines
- Trout/char: 5, but not more than 1 over 50 cm, 2 from streams, 3 lake trout and 1 bull trout (Dolly Varden). Release bull trout from streams all year and from lakes Aug 15-Oct 15, and lake trout Sept 15-Oct 31 and under 30 cm.
- Arctic grayling: catch and release only
- Burbot: 5
- Kokanee: 10 (none from streams)
- Ice fish with one line and one lure, artificial fly or other terminal attractor.
- You are legally responsible for warning other people of your ice hole.
- Remove your ice hut before ice breakup.
Nearest snow station: Barkerville (1,470 m, 48 km away), 1 cm on November 6.
