Crown Land in the Okanagan
The Okanagan is known for its lake, beaches and orchards, but the public land that matters for camping and fishing is on the plateau above the valley. This page is centred on Peachland, on the west shore of Okanagan Lake between West Kelowna and Summerland. Okanagan Mountain Park, 11,296 ha of protected backcountry, rises across the lake about 7 km away, and Okanagan Lake Park (10 km), Darke Lake Park (11 km), Eneas Lakes Park (14 km) and Trepanier Park (18 km) surround the town. Recreation Sites and Trails BC runs 16 campgrounds within 25 km, most of them on small trout lakes up the forest service roads: Silver Lake (9 km), Jackpine Lake (17 km), Peachland Lake (18 km), Lambly Lake (20 km, 22 sites) and Headwaters Lake (20 km). Within 50 km the count reaches 43 campgrounds and about 390 campsites. This page rounds up the region's public land, fishing spots, campgrounds and road trips.
