Ice fishing on Zubek Lake
Zubek Lake is in the Southern Division of Manitoba's angling regulations. Walleye and sauger are open May 9, 2026 to April 4, 2027, and most other species all year. The 2026 Anglers' Guide has no entry of its own for this water, so the provincial limits and the division rules apply.
- Shelters off by March 31, 2027, except March 14 on the Red River and March 15 in Area B (southwestern Manitoba), or sooner if a Conservation Officer orders it. In a provincial park, shelters must also meet Manitoba Parks' size, location and use standards, and may not be slept in.
- Live bait fish may be used, except in stocked trout waters, Duck Mountain Provincial Park and Forest, Turtle Mountain Provincial Park, Porcupine Provincial Forest, Whiteshell Provincial Park, the Winnipeg River from Seven Sisters Dam to the Ontario border, and Atikaki and South Atikaki provincial parks. Purchased live bait needs the dealer's three-day Live Bait Fish Transfer and Use Receipt. From April 1, 2027, live bait fish and leeches will be banned everywhere in Manitoba.
- You may fish with two lines through the ice (one in open water), with no more than two hooks or lures per line, and you must stay within 50 m of your lines.
- Barbless hooks are required on every line in Manitoba, ice fishing included.
Nearest climate station reporting snow: Indian Bay (18 km away), 0 cm on the ground on October 30.
