Regulations

A Manitoba angling licence and barbless hooks are required on provincial waters; inside Riding Mountain National Park you need a Parks Canada fishing permit instead, and a Manitoba licence is not valid there. Minnedosa is in the Southern Division, where walleye close April 6 to May 8 and ice fishing shelters must come off by mid-March to March 31 depending on the water. Hunting and access rules differ between wildlife management areas, so check the signs at each one.
