Crown Land in the Pembina Valley
The Pembina River cuts a wide, wooded valley through the farmland of south-central Manitoba, and the province protects much of it as the Pembina Valley Wildlife Management Area, a string of parcels along the river. This page is centred on La Rivière, where the nearest parcel is about 2 km from Pembina Valley Centennial Park, the village campground. Further out are the Donald W. Orchard, Wellington and Deerwood WMAs, 29 to 34 km away. Rock Lake, about 37 km west near Crystal City, covers 16 km², and the province records walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, perch and channel catfish there. Mary Jane Reservoir, 8 km out, is a small water with brown and brook trout on the province's records. There are campgrounds at Pilot Mound (16 km), Somerset (19 km) and Crystal City (22 km), and 11 lie within 50 km. This page rounds up the region's public land, fishing spots, campgrounds and road trips.
