Snowmobile and winter trails in Manitoba

Manitoba's groomed snowmobile trails are run by Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) and its member clubs, and about 10,400 km of them are mapped on OpenStreetMap, shown on the map below. For skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking, Manitoba Parks designates 129 winter trails and recreation areas in 14 provincial parks, about 582 km in all.

Snowmobiling: what you need

The trail lines on this site show where trails run, not whether they are groomed or open this week. Check Snoman's trail status map or its Snowmobile Manitoba app before you ride, and read the winter on Crown land guide for lake crossings and winter roads.

Park winter trails

In winter, Manitoba Parks assigns each trail to an activity: groomed ski trails, shared-use trails wide enough for skiers, walkers and fat bikes side by side, and trails packed only for walking and snowshoeing. Never walk, snowshoe or ride on set ski tracks, keep dogs on a leash, and keep fat bikes off ski-only and snowmobile trails. Snowshoeing is allowed on any trail that isn't groomed for skiing or snowmobiling. A park vehicle permit is needed all year.
