The Itinerary

Riding Mountain National Park (2,969 km²) is an island of boreal forest and prairie at the heart of the Prairies. Three ecosystems meet here: northern boreal forest, eastern mixed forest and plains grassland.

Wasagaming, the village in the park's heart on Clear Lake, is the tourism hub: beach, marina, open-air cinema. The Bison Enclosure features 40 plains bison. The Grey Owl Trail leads to the camp of the writer-naturalist Grey Owl (Archibald Belaney). Fishing, hiking, kayaking.
